Adult Wheel & Handbuilding, Level 1, with Evelyn Leon - Tuesday Afternoons
- 7 Weeks: Tuesday, January 9th - Tuesday, Tuesday, February 20th
- 4:00 pm-6:30 pm, including clean-up
- $315.00 plus clay (all clay must be purchased through APG)
- Students need to bring their own aprons and towels
Learn the basics or advance your skills in this 7 week course:
- For those with little or no experience on the wheel, we will cover basic skills like centering, throwing a cylinder, trimming and glazing.
- For those with little or no experience handbuilding, we will cover basic skills like coil work, pinch pots, with a focus on fun and functional pieces.
Evelyn Leon
Evelyn started making pottery in 2014 and learned to embrace the beauty of "happy accidents" . She likes to push her limits creatively, and, in 2018, was able to leave cubicle land for a career in pottery. Evelyn likes to do what she calls Mindful Making. "I take time when I make pieces and am mindful of each aspect (design, handles, decorating, bottoms). I inspect each piece carefully at every stage to ensure the quality is up to my standards and to avoid waste. " I take great pride in my work and I am enthusiastically passionate about the craft. I love passing on my knowledge and passion to my students. |
